To login at the Research Drive, go to https://researchdrive.surfsara.nl/ or to the institutional instance of your own institution.

The SURF Research Drive environment can handle the following login methods;

  • Login with your institutional account via SURFconext (1)
  • Login with your Research Drive local account (2)
  • Login with your SURFsara Central User Administration (CUA)- LDAP account (2)


The available login methods can be different for an institutional instance.



Institutional account

If your organization is not listed in the list of SURFconext connected institutions, please contact the IT Service Desk of your organisation to connect your institution account to SURF Research Drive.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

The Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported for Research Drive.
If you still use Internet Explorer and want to use Research Drive, you will need to use a different browser.
The Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera browsers are supported.


Forgot your password

In case you make use of a Research Drive local account (guest account) and you forgot your password, then you can request a password reset link via the Research Drive login page.
For this, you have to make a login attempt with your account, after which the option for reset will be displayed.
