The SURFconext Service Provider Dashboard (https://sp.surfconext.nl/) enables you to manage your service(s) on the SURFconext platform. It allows you to create, test and edit entities before promoting them to production. This page will show you how to get started with the Service Provider Dashboard, commonly known as the SP Dashboard. If you are new to SURFconext, get yourself acquainted with SURFconext by reading this page.

Preparation

Before you start, you have to make sure you have an account with an Identity Provider that has access to SURFconext. You cannot continue if you do not have this, so make sure you have an identity on one of the following types of identity providers:

  • If you setup a service and you work for a Dutch education or research institution, you can use the identity of this institution to work with the dashboard.

  • If you work for a Service Provider and you are not a member of an identity provider like an institution or a research facility that is enlisted with SURFconext, you can use our guest identity provider OneGini to gain access to the Service Provider Dashboard.

Points of attention when using OneGini or your Institutional Account

  • How to make a OneGini account is described on this page.
  • Confirm the email address used for OneGini by clicking the confirmation link you receive from OneGini. You cannot continue without this because the email address is a proprietary attribute for the SP Dashboard.
  • Use the created OneGini account to confirm the team invitation. If you have multiple accounts, make sure to use the same account for processing the invitation as well as login' on to the SP Dashboard.
  • You can verify the email address SURFconext teams and the SP Dashboard receives from OneGini or your institution by visiting the SURFconext profile page.

SURF will create a team in SURFconext team, and invite you to become a member of that team. Members of that team are able to sign in to the SP dashboard and manage a specific service. If you're member of multiple teams, you will be able to switch between services in the SP dashboard. Want to know more about teams? Follow this link.
