Handling attributes is what SURFconext is all about. A good understanding of attributes is essential when you start working with SURFconext. The following articles contain background information about these attributes and how to use them with SURFconext and make them benefit your service. Please note that the English versions of these pages are leading and best maintained.


SURFconext started of as a SAML based federation. Recently support for the OpenID Connect protocol has been added. As SAML, OpenID Connect makes use of attributes but in this realm they are conveniently named 'claims'. You can use them similar and are depicted here as well as the same information about users is handled through these so-called claims.
