Account types

While managing users, you will encounter two basic types of accounts:

  1. Local accounts; Research Drive only account that are not linked with an external account from an institute. For example if you participate as a guest in research. These accounts are only known within Research Drive.
  2. Institutional accounts; Institutional accounts log in using SURFconext and are therefore linked with an account of an institute.
